We are looking at creating a virtual SNF, complete with patients, family, staff, a dynamic infrastructure, and consumable commodities. All of this exists in a dynamic, virtual community that includes environment al factors such as weather.
The simulation models steady-state operations and has the ability to accept changing conditions, rates of supply, SNF residents and staff in response to extreme weather.
Throughout, the objective remains constant — provide a consistent level of care for residents and maintain a healthy work environment for the staff.
There are key times that decisions re: resources, staffing, protective measures are required. Key among these are whether to shelter in place, evacuate, of employ a hybrid solution.
At each decision point, players are given a number of choices for action. Each choice has its own set of consequences. Choices open some other possibilities and close the door on others.
Much like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book, choices create different outcomes. And, with those outcomes come consequences, new challenges, and more decisions.
The systems & decisions can range from the basic to complex and small to large.
